...The stockings were hung by the chimney with care...

I love the tradition of Christmas stockings, filled with fun little odds and ends and tiny gifts. This year, I'm especially looking forward to filling my toddler daughter's stocking with toys and trinkets. But you're never too old for a stocking, and if someone you love is into cooking, there are so many fun things you can fill a stocking with. Start with a few gadgets and tools: a clever garlic peeler, a paring knife with its own case for picnics, a set of measuring spoons. Then add some jars or tins of interesting spices, salts, herb rubs or other ingredients. You could even tuck a gift certificate to their favorite cooking store in there, or roll up a few pretty tea towels to peek out of the top. Need some more ideas? Check out my list of Inexpensive Stocking Stuffers for Cooks.
