When I lived in New York, I loved buying lunch at Daily Soup, a restaurant that only served soup (a la the restaurant operated by Seinfeld's infamous Soup Nazi). One of my favorites was a lentil stew that was perfumed with exotic spices. I've recreated the delicious, warm flavors of this soup in the recipes for Indian-Style Lentil Stew. Make up a pot of rice in the rice cooker to spoon it over, and it's a delicious one-pot meal that seems far more complicated than it actually was to prepare.
