Having a batch of simple syrup in the fridge means you can mix up some fizzy minted lemonade whenever you like. Five citrus juicer options.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 12 oz. fresh lemon juice (from about 6 to 8 lemons)
- 4 oz. simple syrup (see link to recipe, above)
- 4 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, roughly torn
- 16 oz. seltzer water
- Lemon wedges and mint sprigs, for garnish
Preparation:
- In a pitcher or a measuring cup with a spout, combine lemon juice and simple syrup.
- In four tall glasses, put 1 tablespoon of mint leaves in each glass. Pour in about an ounce of the lemon-syrup mixture into each glass, and using a spoon or a muddler, muddle the mint until they're crushed and fragrant. Add ice to the glasses, then divide the remaining lemon-syrup mixture between the glasses (you should have about 4 ounces total in each glasses), then top each glass with seltzer to taste(3 to 4 ounces), and stir with a spoon. Garnish with a lemon wedge and mint sprig, if desired.
