This twist on fresh squeezed lemonade includes refreshing fresh mint and the fizz of seltzer water. Serve fizzy minted lemonade on a hot summer afternoon or at your next cookout. Having a batch of simple syrup in the fridge means you can mix up some fizzy minted lemonade whenever you like. Five citrus juicer options.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz. fresh lemon juice (from about 6 to 8 lemons)
  • 4 oz. simple syrup (see link to recipe, above)
  • 4 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, roughly torn
  • 16 oz. seltzer water
  • Lemon wedges and mint sprigs, for garnish

Preparation:

  1. In a pitcher or a measuring cup with a spout, combine lemon juice and simple syrup.

  2. In four tall glasses, put 1 tablespoon of mint leaves in each glass. Pour in about an ounce of the lemon-syrup mixture into each glass, and using a spoon or a muddler, muddle the mint until they're crushed and fragrant. Add ice to the glasses, then divide the remaining lemon-syrup mixture between the glasses (you should have about 4 ounces total in each glasses), then top each glass with seltzer to taste(3 to 4 ounces), and stir with a spoon. Garnish with a lemon wedge and mint sprig, if desired.

This recipe for Fizzy Minted Lemonade makes 4 8-oz. servings.
