Company Background:

KitchenAid was founded in 1919 with the creation of what would remain its signature product even decades later, a home stand mixer that had different attachments to perform a variety of kitchen tasks.

Over the years, the company expanded its product line to include home appliances like dishwashers and ovens, as well as other electric appliances and kitchen tools like cutlery, cookware and gadgets. KitchenAid is based in Benton Harbor, Mi.

Product Line:

KitchenAid's stand mixers are iconic, powerful, and durably designed, with a variety of attachments that can do everything from juice oranges to make ice cream to grind meat. Each attachment fits every KitchenAid stand mixer ever created, even the original. The company's other countertop appliances include blenders, coffee makers, food processors, hand mixers, immersion blenders, microwave ovens, slow cookers, toasters and waffle makers.

In appliances, KitchenAid makes ovens, cooktops and ranges, dishwashers, ventilation hoods, outdoor grills, trash compactors and disposers, and refrigerators.

And the KitchenAid brand is also represented in bakeware, cookware, cutlery, kitchen textiles, tea kettles, kitchen utensils and gadgets.

Signature Product:

KitchenAid is best known for its stand mixer, and offers a range of options from the basic and entry-priced Classic Series to the professional-grade Commercial 5 Series.

Design:

In 1955, KitchenAid became a pioneer in color and style when it wowed attendees at the International Housewares Show in Atlantic City by introducing countertop appliances in different colors: Petal Pink, Sunny Yellow, Island Green and Satin Chrome. To this day, KitchenAid continues to be a leader in color trends, introducing one or more new colors in its appliances each year. Today, KitchenAid stand mixers are available in more than 40 colors and finishes.
