The George Foreman brand is no doubt the heavyweight champion in the indoor grilling category. But with increasing interest in indoor grilling as a healthy cooking method, other appliance makers are making their own versions of indoor countertop grills. Design enthusiast will surely like the look of a stainless steel indoor grill on their countertop; here's a comparison of George Foreman's Stainless Steel Grill (Model GRP-100) with the Indoor BBQ and Grill made by Australian appliance maker Breville (Model 800GRXL).
Size
The George Foreman grill has a 100-square-inch grilling surface and weighs in at 12 pounds. Breville's grill opens flat, giving it a total of 368 square inches of grilling/griddling surface. Used closed as a contact grill, it has 184 square inches. At 20 pounds, it's also a pretty heavy piece of equipment. You won't want to be hauling this out of a bottom cabinet on a daily basis.Design
The George Foreman Stainless Steel Grill has a square, more contemporary design than many of its sister products, and the top of the grill and the handle are clad in stainless steel, trimmed with black. Breville, meanwhile, is known for its design-conscious products, and its grill is no exception. It is sleek and flat, with a die-cast stainless steel body and die-cast aluminum arms.Features
The George Foreman grill features three dishwasher-safe removable plates, including a griddle/bake pan, which allows you to make a variety of dishes on the grill. The plates are angled so that fat can drain off. However, it does not open flat to use as an open griddle or grill. It has a temperature control dial and a dial to indicate when food is done.
The Breville grill, meanwhile, does open flat, but its nonstick plates are not removable, which can make it difficult to clean. The top plate is ribbed like a grill and the bottom plate is flat, so when used open, you could grill steaks or bacon on one side, and fry eggs or flip pancakes on the other. The Breville model can tilt for fat-draining purposes, or remain flat, and when used closed, the distance between the cooking surfaces can be adjusted according to the thickness of food. The control panel includes a precise temperature setting from 350˚F to 450˚F and a 15-minute timer, and a light indicates when the cooking temperature has been reached.

Both George Foreman and Breville offer a 1-year warranty against defects due to faulty material or workmanship.Price
