Guide Review - EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale
A kitchen scale comes in handy for weighing ingredients for baking or cooking, or for managing portions if you're on a diet. If you just need a basic scale that doesn't cost a lot, the EatSmart Precision Pro is a great option.
With a compact, rounded design (It measures about 8 by 6 inches), the Precision Pro doesn't take up much counter space, and is only 1.5 inches tall, so can be stored on its side in a cabinet or drawer. The lightweight plastic it's made of makes this scale feel a bit flimsy or cheap, but it didn't break or affect performance during my testing. Larger bowls or plates might overshadow the display, however.
In terms of function, this scale has a nice 11-pound capacity, which is typical of higher-end scales. Pressing the "Unit" button will switch the weight readout between ounces, grams, pounds or kilograms, with a 0.5 ounce or 1 gram graduation and decimal points to measure partial units.
The longer (3 minutes) auto shutoff was nice, especially if you're adding ingredients to measure in a single bowl on the scale. And the display was large and easy to read.
All in all, this scale is an affordable, reliable option.
